Check out the field trips, collaborative partnerships and adventures in learning captured 📸💙 1️⃣ Program Shoutout 📢👏 Our Career Skills Program students have been busy at Cornell University and Tops Friendly Markets 🎓💼 👩‍🎓 Since the start of the school year, our Career Skills students have: 🌐 Explored realistic career options on the Cornell campus & in our community 🤝 Connected with Cornell student mentors 📝 Developed employability skills and career plans 🛒 Interned at TOPS, working on their skills in stocking shelves, working in the bakery, and even in the parking lot with customers and carts! 2️⃣ Turning Point High School Environmental Science Students Explored Cornell Lab of Ornithology 🦉🌿Mentored by Postdoctoral Fellow Jessie Williamson, our students got an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the lab, with insights into bird evolution and migration of giant hummingbirds in South America. 🌍 3️⃣ Trout in the Classroom with Discover Cayuga Lake 🐟📚 Discover Cayuga Lake's "Finger Lakes Trout in the Classroom" program is making waves at TST BOCES! 🌊 Students from Turning Point High School and the STEPS program have been raising trout in our classroom aquariums. 🐠 Our students met with Discover Cayuga Lake staff to explore trout habitats and examine alevin up close. 🧑‍🔬 4️⃣ Time with Tito Villa from the Ithaca Youth Bureau 🌆 Our Supervised Work Experience students had a fantastic tour with Tito Villa, gaining valuable insights into their recreation and youth development services!
