Cafeterias are the heart of our schools!
Exceptional Eats, the Smith School Cafeteria, is the vibrant hub of our educational community!
We're proud to partner with the Chef Ann Foundation, and the Park Foundation, to craft delicious meals here at TST BOCES. Our menu features classic American favorites prepared from scratch, infused with lots of love and positivity. Each day, we offer a variety of options including both meat and vegetarian entrées, fresh fruits, a bountiful salad bar, and refreshing ice-cold water.
Introducing the Tompkins County School Food Reboot!
With the launch of Tompkins County School Food Reboot (TCSFR), we're committed to prioritizing whole ingredients and scratch-cooked meals. We're dedicated to sourcing locally whenever possible, supporting our local community while providing nutritious meals that serve as the foundation for academic success. Our goal is to ensure that every child is well-nourished and prepared to thrive in the classroom.
Mission
To provide nutritious meals within budget perimeters, so a child's attention is on learning and not being hungry.
Vision
Every student has access to nutritious meals at school, ensuring their health & well being.

Farm to School (F2S) is a program that is based in Wellness and pursues that goal through activities and events related to cultivation, cooking, and community.
The Smith School has access to lessons created by the Farm to School team. Students and the Farm to School team tend the TST BOCES Homestead Garden where students can take part in planting seeds and watching them grow into vegetables and fruits. The Homestead garden also offers everyone a place to be present and engage with nature, their own passions, and have a "grounding" spot. There are art supplies, writing utensils, and other items located in the garden for some who might not enjoy gardening, but still want to engage with the Earth.
Salad Bar @ Smith School: Our passionate Food Service crew is creatively prepping garden grown veggies and fruits that whenever possible they proudly offer in the cafeteria menu. Please encourage your children to try new creations at the salad bar and on their plates! Visit the website linked below for further information on F2S!
