🎓 A Future Full of Opportunities! 🎓 Today our TST BOCES Career and Tech campus was alive with excitement as we hosted over 215 8th graders from Trumansburg, Dryden, and South Seneca! The 8th graders not only explored our engaging CTE programs through hands-on activities but also met current TST PTECH Academy students and learned about P-TECH's 7 pathways to a FREE TC3 associate degree! 💡📚 P-TECH is currently enrolling 8th graders for the 2025-26 school year! They also discovered our New Visions Programs, which offer 12th graders a unique, academically challenging senior year in specialized fields like Engineering, Health & Medical Sciences, Exercise & Health Sciences and Life Sciences. 🚀🔬 We loved sharing all these incredible opportunities for students to explore their futures! 🔬⚙️ From Plasma to Precision—Our New Visions Engineering students put their skills to the test yesterday at Cornell NanoScale Facility! 🔬⚙️ Students got hands-on with advanced technology, using the Oxford PlasmaLab 80+ machine to precisely etch silicon nitride and the high-powered YES EcoClean Asher machine to remove photoresist with oxygen plasma. 🧑‍🔬 As a science experiment, students selected different thicknesses of silicon nitride to layer on their wafers. 🔥 Turning Up the Heat with Hands-on Learning! 🔥 Yesterday, UA Local 81 — United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry—brought the heat to our campus! Tail-wagging success at Helping Hounds Dog Rescue! 🐾🐕 Animal Science juniors visited Helping Hounds in Syracuse yesterday, learning from experts Lisa, Vanessa, and Chivon about dog care, volunteer coordination, and behavior training. Chivon, Training & Behavior Specialist, led a hands-on lesson, teaching students techniques to reinforce calmness in dogs. Our students even got to practice with adoptable dogs, putting their skills to the test! At BARK, the Animal Science day kennel for TST staff dogs, students train dogs while mastering skills like physical exams, behavior assessments, and client communication. 🎁🐾 Yesterday, Animal Science seniors hit Walmart for a special mission: shopping for the annual NTHS Goodie Box Drive! 🎄💝 Each year, this drive helps support TST BOCES students and families during the holidays, and this year, Animal Science students decided to use funds from their fundraisers to give back. 💸❤️ Partnered up and armed with $50 budgets, students shopped for themed boxes—like movie night, baking essentials, stocking stuffers, and toiletries.
