As a "VITAL Educator," Rocker will participate in a year-long professional learning community, equipping her with the skills to become an expert trainer. She will play a crucial role in disseminating standardized educational materials to colleagues statewide, enhancing virtual and hybrid teaching methods. Additionally, as a VITAL Trainer, Rocker will guide teachers in integrating Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education (CRSE) practices into their virtual courses, fostering an inclusive and engaging learning experience for all students.

Beyond instructional support, Rocker will also work to ensure that students engaged in virtual-only learning receive the necessary resources and assistance to thrive academically. Her dedication to supporting these students reflects her strong commitment to equity in education.

"This opportunity to contribute to the advancement of virtual and hybrid learning on a statewide level is a testament to the dedication and expertise of educators in our region," remarked Emily Wemmer, Director of Regional School Success for TST BOCES. She went on to say, "Lauren’s hard work and dedication have earned her a place in this competitive program, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have TST BOCES represented in this distinguished group."

The TALE Academy, which consists of seven comprehensive modules, serves as the gold standard for professional learning in virtual education. The self-paced nature of these modules, featuring interactive activities and learner-driven choices, ensures that educators like Rocker can gain best practices for effective online teaching.

As a VITAL Trainer, Rocker will lead regional or district-wide trainings, leveraging the various resources provided by the TALE Academy to support educators and students alike.
