Many exceptional education students from TST BOCES Smith School took and passed state Regents exams this June.
Passing exams included: Living Environment (10), U.S. History (5), Algebra 1 Common Core (5), Global (4) and ELA Common Core (3).
These numbers represent a total passing rate for students in the Smith School of nearly 60%!
“Our students come to us with significant learning and emotional challenges, as well as a history of often being unsuccessful in school settings,” said TST BOCES Exceptional Education Principal Mary Meeker. “For so many of them to have passed these very intimidating and difficult exams is a great accomplishment and a source of immense pride. A great deal of credit goes to our teachers, who successfully accommodate diverse learning needs/styles and aptly differentiate instruction for their students.”
