Each Techapalooza summer camp offered hands-on activities to students entering grades six through eight. The camps are led by CTE instructors and activities are inspired by the programs available to high school students during the school year. Campers are able to develop new skills and make friends from across the region.

“Techapalooza is a unique opportunity for middle school students to explore a variety of career fields,” said Cindy Walter, Executive Director of Career Education. “The students get an opportunity to develop interests in a hands-on learning environment, while meeting new friends across the region. Exploring their options early will help them consider their path of interest early on.”

This year, camps included welding in Sparks & Fire, building and battling robots in Lego My Robo, and learning baking techniques in Cupcake Wars. A total of seven camps were offered.

Each camp runs for five days. Many students participated in multiple camps, taking advantage of a discount available for each subsequent camp after the first.
