The TST P-TECH Academy is excited to welcome Keith Williams as the program’s new principal.
An experienced educator, Mr. Williams has a tradition of embracing technology in the classroom. Over his 25 years teaching social studies at Newark Valley Central School District, Mr. Williams often piloted new technology and approaches for the district.
Throughout his career Mr. Williams has valued authentic experiences in education, a philosophy that lies at the core of the P-TECH instructional model. He was drawn to the non-traditional classroom setting of the P-TECH academy, including the emphasis on project-based learning and the opportunity to present students with genuine problems to work through and solve.
“I am excited to embrace the challenges of creating a unique learning experience for students that incorporates the use of technology as well as project-based learning,” Mr. Williams said. “I am so grateful to be a part of what I am sure will become one of the most dynamic programs available to students throughout New York State!”
As the TST P-TECH Academy enters its second school year Mr. Williams is eager to help the new program develop. This includes continuing to establish a physical space that provides a comfortable learning environment as new cohorts of students join and the program continues to grow.
Mr. Williams received his master’s degree from SUNY Cortland and his administrator certification from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
