The SESIS works directly with school districts that are identified through the NYSED regional planning process as “needing assistance,” “needing intervention,” or “at risk” of not meeting state targets and the requirements of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).  The SESIS provides support to districts as they work toward meeting state targets for improvement as identified in their SPP (State Performance Plan). We strive to bring and sustain high quality, research-based practices in the areas of literacy, behavioral supports and interventions, and specially designed instructional practices to improve outcomes for students with disabilities.
