Turning Point elementary students travelled to Groton to sing for the residents at the Groton Community Health Care Center.
Led by Turning Point elementary teacher Belinda Adams, who accompanied the group on guitar, the students enthusiastically performed classic songs like Frosty the Snowman, We Wish You a Merry Christmas and Jingle Bell Rock.
“It was great having the kids come in to sing for us!” said Rachel Sitek, the Director of Therapeutic Recreation at the Groton Community Health Care Center. “Intergenerational programs are so beneficial for our residents as well as for the kids and it was nice to see how many smiles and memories were brought back during the visit.”
The visit to Groton gave students an opportunity to perform a community service during the holiday season and bring some smiles to the faces of the Groton Community Health Care Center residents.
