Students in Smith School participated in an art contest to design a new logo for the Snack Shack.
The contest, led by art teacher Katrina Binkewicz, was open to all Smith School students and featured around 20 entries. The winning design was submitted by Springboard student Eleana Mettler. Her logo is now featured on the aprons worn by students and staff working in the Snack Shack.
“It is important to create art projects that have a real-world connection,” Katrina Binkewicz said. “Students learn more when there is connection to other subjects. They truly enjoyed the project.”
Along with her design being selected for Snack Shack uniforms, Eleana Mettler was also awarded a $10 Snack Shack gift card for winning first place in the contest. Second and third place winners also received Snack Shack gift cards.
