Course Description

The Cosmetology Program consists of practical hands-on training and theory work, field trips to beauty and styling shows, and presentations by guest speakers from the cosmetology field. Instruction in shop management and communication skills prepares students to handle the business portion of working in a salon.  Cosmetology students practice their skills each week during on-campus clinic hours.

• Manicures, pedicures, and artificial

• Skin structure, facials, and make-up
• Chemical hair straightening
• Hand massage
• Facials
• Personal hygiene
• Permanent waving
• Hair coloring

Industry-based Certification:

Students need to attain 1,000 clinical hours to be eligible to take the New York State Cosmetology License Exam
